Furniture Design Seminar

Free-flowing, dynamic and moving.

In this furniture design class, students were exposed to the manipulation of different forms, shapes and structures. Using The Elements of Design, by Rowena Reed Kostellow, each student was to develop a sculptural form, shape and/or structure that relates to their own personality. The developed sculpture was then to be used as an inspiration into designing a furniture collection.

Shown is my furniture collection derived from the “self” inspiration – creativity, free-flowing ideas, and the continuous flow of patterns and ideas.

The collection is called "Acentric" : each piece can stand by itself and can be used as an accent piece; but still look great when combined together. The furniture is designed to multi-functional for indoor use or outdoor use.
